Aeronautical Meteorological Forecasters Course

Summary

Introduces trainee to Meteorology and prepares them for a professional career in Aeronautical Meteorological Forecasting in an operational forecasting office.

Minimum Entry Requirements

The course is intended for holders of a BSc. degree in Maths and Physics.

Learning Outcomes

The training provides the student with the Basic
Instruction Package for Meteorologists working at
Aeronautical Meteorological. Forecasting Offices
in line with WMO No. 1083. It further equips the
trainee with the knowledge to demonstrate the
requisite skills and competencies for Aeronautical
Meteorological Forecasters.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to
analyse and monitor the weather situation, forecast
aeronautical meteorological phenomena, warn of
hazardous phenomena, ensure quality of
meteorological information and communicate
meteorological information to users.
